Randy Johnson goes perfect

Posted by Ricardo en 19 mayo 2004 20:50

My brazilian readers (I’m not even sure if I have any) may not know what a perfect game is. Last night, Diamondback’s Randy Johnson did something for the 17th time since late 19th century: he pitched a perfect game. Altough it was against my team, the Atlanta Braves, I couldn’t let it pass me by. I watched history at its making last night. It was one more incredible feat by one of the best pitchers in baseball history.

I’m not sure how to explain what a perfect game is for a non-baseball fan. I guess it’s like if, in a soccer game, you didn’t let the opposing team cross the midfield line. Not a perfect comparision, but what the hell…
